This course is based on the Erasmus+ project "Risk and Security Governance Studies within Baltic – Nordic Academic Community of Practice". In this course, you can learn how risk communication can be used to deal with risks and ensure security. Easily accessible information and interactive ways of learning make this course both enjoyable and useful. Course also provides practical tips, hands-on tools and the most recent examples for the effective risk communication.

We welcome you to the course on risk communication!
Course is open to everyone, and among you there are students with no prior knowledge in risk communication, and also there are professionals seeking to improve their knowledge and skills in the field.
We hope everyone will find something interesting and learn something useful during these coming weeks.
Course consists of 8 weeks. Each week we will open a new topic. Every topic includes video lectures, case studies, discussion forums, practical assignments and other study materials.
Look at the course structure, read about the assignments, and get acquainted with teachers. During the course you can ask questions in Question forum.

This discussion should focus on the question as follows: What kind of advantages and disadvantages do you see in using social media for risk communication? The practical assignment consists of expressing your views and providing at least one example of the case (e.g. print screen of webpage, blog, posts, etc.).
As this disscusion forum is part of practical assignments for this week, you can get up to 3 points in tolal for participating in the discussion and providing an example (e.g. print screen of webpage, blog, posts, etc.).
